Such an invigorating read it was… potentially reflecting the true shade of our society in a sweet and salty manner. We have adjusted with all the piffle and rubbish norms that have been transferred from generations. And with respect, we call them ‘the societal norms’. Their purpose is to make the world a peaceful place to live. Is that so? Because I don’t think likely and neither do the people who are woke enough to know the difference between right and wrong.But are we doing anything? No...we all have adjusted and adopted a way to overlook all the disturbing ‘cultural burdens’. The irony is that these are now a substantial part of our lives. And to bring about a change, Sanober Irshad has brought this amazing piece into existence. This book talks about some serious misuses in the name of cultures and values while keeping the matter light by adding humor to it. The collection contains twelve short stories that satirically itches you to think about all the hollow traditions we have been following blindly.
Special appreciation must be given to the author for her mastered skill of story-telling, which made me stick to this book. Each story hits at the right point and forces you to doubt all the baggage we’re carrying in the name of culture, traditions, and rituals. The Curiosity Shop, Love @ first bite, and Pride to be are some of the many stories I utterly enjoyed reading.
This piece is carrying such eminent messages that need to be expressed openly and change for the good of our and the coming generations. I extremely suggest each one of you to lay your hands on this masterpiece and enjoy the richness of truth served with humor.
