Awakening (Mythics and Mortals Book 1) By Hannah-Louise Smith Book Review

Synopsis-

Percy Jackson meets The Mortal Instruments

Christina Jones had always thought that she was normal, just your typical unlucky woman. But this all changes on her twenty-first birthday when she falls, quite literally, headfirst into a world that was thought only to exist in Ancient Greek mythology.

With her new friends, Sophie Romain and Lucas Teravin, by her side, Christina has to fight, not only to control her developing powers and remember who she is, but also to fight the demon that hunts her for a mysterious figure called The Master.

Book Review-

Awakening is the only book in the Mythics and Mortals series by Hannah-Louise Smith. The story circles around the main protagonist Christina Jones, a typical working woman bumbling with various challenges in her life, and it is on her twenty-first birthday when she faces an encounter with a strange subject, after which she falls into a world that was thought only to exist in Ancient Greek mythology. Christina is on a mission to uncover who she is and where she comes from. Christina is accompanied and supported by her mythic friends through her failures and realisations.

Awakening is enthralling and exciting enough to keep you in the story to know what’s going on next.

Hannah Louis Smith has designed characters that floated into our world. Most of the time, you will become the part of the story holding this story to be the only reality. Back in the story, Christina teams up with Sophie and Lucas, her new friends in her new world, while she also develops her ability to fight against her villain.

The characters crafted by the author are incredible. The villain is easy to hate, and the friends are easy to cheer for.

I would recommend this book to everyone who believes in the world beyond what we see.
